I think the Forums have gone quiet. Maybe it's the weather. Most of the half dozen threads I have been participating in haven't updated, which is the reason I even had time to find this thread.

I don't know how to get statistics on the number of posts, I go by the number viewing each forum. As I write it's 58 in Ecomodding Central and 42 in Aerodynamics, which is pretty typical.

---------

I'm not getting the modified bike trailer from your illustration. You're going to cantilever the trailer body and remove the wheel?

Have you looked at christofoo's thread Project: ECOfamily Civic and its Aero Hitch Box? He's finding that the air gap between the rear of the car and the hitch-mounted box is problematic. Any extension should flow smoothly off the rear contours.

I think that for cost-benefit reasons a box cavity would give better returns. Your illustration shows you are aware that the bottom rear needs as much attention as the top. The ultimate treatment of a hatchback body is IMHO the VW GTI W12-650.

Consider Polymetal as the material to work in.

Hello yerself. I see you have a Join Date in 201306.

Have you read christofoo's thread yet? He did exactly that. He let the construction technique dictate the form of his hitch box. Take a look at near-perfection:

How close can you come from your starting point?

The hitch and carrier adds a lot of weight. How would TÜV view this?
