Polestar's decadal aerodynamic direction

Max Missoni, ( Volvo ) Polestar's design director, created the Polestar Precept concept car to indicate his vision for their products eight years out. He says that everything about the Precept's design has to do with aerodynamics and technology.

.

The way I see it, the Polestar is just a 4 door VW XL1 without rear skirts.

VW XL1

Definite similarities.
And a reason for much concern to stylists/ designers, as ' look-alike' cars have been feared since 1927, when GM led the entire industry into design obsolescence as corporate policy.
The fallout from that decision still resonates today.

Front wing?

It appears to be a flow-thru divergent hood duct at a minimum.

https://arstechnica.com/cars/2020/04...ce-car-design/

We would be calling it a wing if it were at the rear of the car and in the flow, no question about it.

Proprietary powerRibs™ technology from Bcomp is inspired by leaf veins, offering rigidity with low weight......................

Front wing, integrated into the bonnet, improves air flow by reducing turbulence over the rest of the body – important for increasing EV range

•Air ducts behind the front wheels allow air to exit the wheelhouses and contribute to a more laminar flow around the side of the car

•Air ducts in front of- and behind the rear wheels contribute to brake cooling as well as wheelhouse depressurisation

EDIT-2:

Interesting step in the rear roof line/rear window area 3rd brake light.

hood extractor

I have no idea what the top speed of the Precept was considered for, but on some 'hot-lap', 'track' cars, the extractor vent on the bonnet allows the air to evade the engine bay, where otherwise, cooling air striking the firewall could produce front lift.
The aerodynamics of high-end Camaros and Mustangs focus primarily on thermal management and high-speed stability, at the cost of pickup truck drag coefficients.

One would think it is rated for "C" class autobahn, aka the slow lane. If it's not rated, you cant use the road because you're a hazard
