Wouldn't have to test, it's just basic physics: Gyroscope - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Though it would be pretty simple to mount the flywheel in gimbals, so that forces wouldn't affect the car.

You might also do a search on "high speed flywheel" for more info on the tech involved.

I thought I read that porsche has a show car version of this and the article stated that f1 hates it and is getting rid of hybrid tech. That is why it ends up in a porsche; a nice technology that lost its raison d'etre.
