Possible windshield mod...?

I noticed that the edge of the windshield of my Kia Rondo has a noticeable huge ‘edge’ to it...like about a 1/2” to 3/4” lip....the black portion.
It tapers off gradually as it goes to the top but it just seems that it must really catch the air.
Another mod I will be doing “post Scanguage install” will be to fill that gap as evenly as possible with a clear silicone. Does anybody see any issues with the addition of the silicone?

Probably won't do much to improve aero, but I can't see any issues with it.
