Previa with 3:91's - D'oh!

I thought my van felt peppier than a 3800 pound van with a 4 cylinder should feel, and now I know why! I figured the 5 speed was helping, but it turns out it is factory equipped with a 3:91 rear axle ratio. Great in town for getting in and out of traffic, but with 27 inch tall tires it runs at at least 3500 rpm on the highway, closer to 4000 if you need to get around someone. Luckily I don't need a van on a daily basis, but I will be curious to see how good the FE numbers are if I can keep it just going on local trips, it hardly needs any throttle at all to get rolling. I thought of trying a taller tire for the highway but I think 27 inches will be about the tallest I can find in a 14 inch tire.

look into a 2:89 rear end
that is what I was planning for the Xterra, which has 4.6 gears in the rear !!
