the prius in front of me

I drive an old subaru. very simple. 90hp. 1781cc. Tiny carb fed some cold air, stronger fire, stronger fuel... kick the tires light the fires.

I am truly in a hypermilers realm, and feel out of place, with oversized tread, sounding like a rally car singing out on the highway..me and my 90hp.

Unusually so, the car cruises with the magic throttle around 84mph. that is very common to climb to in maine.

A prius was in front of me, and it occured to me...it wasn't going slow either. in fact it was just right.. my speedo stops at 75, the tach climbed to 3500. The magic spot. Foot barely pressing the throttle. very casual.
Me and the hypermiling prius, drafted, safe distance... 85 miles an hour for at least 75 miles.

It may be an epiphany for some.

The same feeling I feel when I can see 3 miles (8 lightes) all in sync. Not all green but all in sync so I will see them green when I get there at 35mph.
