Cool, there was actually a kart there today! And I got to ride along several times in my friend's 16V '91 Jetta. Fun fun!

Filled up on the way back and averaged a measly 44.531 MPG with 483.7 miles on the tank

Goal of 40mpg: Smashed!

Edit: On the way home I was super super tired so i just put it on cruise at 60 and tried not to doze off. The mileage doesn't look too bad from that. Probably mid to upper 30's.

OH! I also used some self tapping screws to secure the rear wheel skirts into the bodywork so they won't flap around like they did after the two day journey from MN.

The air dam is still scraping a lot. It's kinda fun.

Thanks again guys. I'm having fun getting teh em pee gee's.

Yesterday I went to a friend's house. We ripped out the rest of the rear panels and the rear seat belts and retractors. Then we took out the antennae and taped it inside the car. Still works, less drag

Also a friend of his does pinstriping. I think I'm going to have him do up the Probe.

I notice what looked like an area of turbulence just behind the top of the wheel in the tuft test that you did. It looks as if the wheel gap filler that you added juts out quite a bit. Any plans on making it more flush ? I would seem as though the air is hitting the thing like a ramp and then being sucked back in towards the low pressure area at the back of the wheel.
( just my unejekated guess )

Yeah it's a problem. I don't know if I really want to dive into it at this point, as the whole thing would have to be revised (the entire flair juts out a bit). We'll see.

Edit: Then again, I should be getting some 3'x4' aluminum sheet for free from a guy so maybe I could make it more of a fairing on the back, 15* and all.
