Almost bought one.
Fantastic economy.
Peppy in traffic.
Only problem is the rear seatback is too upright for long trips.

A vw polo would not have any problems keeping up with traffic. Especially if you get the 1.6 diesel. The rating is about 60 mpg. With some effort you could do better.

I presume you mean Imperial MPG instead of U.S. MPG. But anyway, the Polo with the 1.6TDI engine seems far from underpowered.

3.6 l/100km on some models.
And you are right, after reading through the thread, i forgot the title.
The 1.2 tdi’s also do well but they are not underpowered either.
