Real ecological cars have cheap and easy to replace air dams made out of lawn edging right out of the factory. Saves having to retool the moulding machines.

I find it fun and enlightening to read these kinds of threads. Not a lot of minds get changed, but it's kind of fun to note the kind of logic, or lack thereof, that's used in processing these kinds of issues.

mach4 -- Oh look, nine posts. How about this?

I'll drag it out again. The frame is Oak 2x3 with 3/4" rabbets to capture the White Southern Pine interior paneling, 2" of high performance vacuum foam insulation and a fabric skin stretched over that. The White Southern Pine acts as a light-weight thermal mass, like eutectic salts (except I think it's a wax). It would be extremely easy to heat and cool, even parked in a 100mph wind.

Bamboo interior with sea grass floor mats from BamBoomWagens.com.

I don't know about you, but I've changed my mind. I'm completely over the slant six and four-speed. Now it's pure electric or bust. And there's a version with doors twice as long that gull-wing on both sides. To make a food truck.

That looks like an interesting build!

Something similar out of bamboo would look a hundred times better than current bamboo cars...

The thing I like about it is the way the big picture window in front flows into skylights by the time you get to the rear. That just sort of fell out of the geometry.

The oak and White Southern Pine are there for specific reasons. But Bamboomwagens have timber bamboo slats milled on three sides. The framing for the faceted windows could be re-milled out of that leaving the original bamboo face on the interior.
