rear end dimples!?
The dimples on a golf ball allow it to fly further by reducing drag. is this something a round rear end on a vehicle can take advantage of?
Is a porous surface like doliphin skin and shark skin that allowes these natural creatures to be speedy underwater a mod we can apply to the surface of a car so that it might whip its way through this atmosphere a little quicker? can some thing in a textured paint be applied to reduce surface drag? Is the dusty road dirt an enhancer of reduced drag. could we make wind vortex spoilers on the dust level?
i'm sure that this is all alot of dumb questions, but i ask in the hope that they are not.

Is the search feature no longer functional?

I had a question like this too, and so have a lot of others. seach dimples in the search area and you'll find a lot of answers. Short answer is no, unless the car is spinning like a golf ball, wont do much good.

They reduce the air's tendency to detach from the golf ball, effectively reducing its wake.
This could possibly be made to work on a car, but it won't be easy to devise something that actually works, and won't be easy to verify.
I wouldn't go dimpling my car, if I were you

They are not exactly dumb questions, as millions have been / are being poured into researching them by the military.

I saw a white PT Cruiser that had been in a vicious hail storm once. Biggest golf ball I ever saw.

Dimple will only work where there is *attached* air flow. I.E. it won't work on the back of a vehicle.

Well, not at the very back, but it could possibly be made to make the air go 'round the corner and reduce the wake.

I think we're looking for clean separation back there. Rounding the air down to decrease the wake is going to take a good bit of energy, probably inducing more drag than it rids.
