was the 35mph upgrade just a reprogramming of the speed controller?
do you have a link to the specs of the unit that you bought? I assume that these are 48V with around a 5-6hp motor on a solid axle rear end?
what you would want to do is find out what motors will bolt on that are of a higher voltage, spin faster and have a higher HP rating.

It has a 10hp 72 volt three phase induction motor... so it should have plenty of power to go faster, I suspect that even with the "kit" you got that the speed controller is still restricted, it should have a programing port on it that allows you to put limits on things like acceleration, top speed, max amp draw, if you do some searching you should be able to find out what controller it has and how to program it.

Miles ZX40S

I just purchased a used Miles ZX40S, which needs batteries, and would like to contact other Miles ZX40 owners regarding their experiences with the use, modifications & maintenance of these vehicles. For example what has been your experience with battery charging frequency? My initial reading suggest that the batteries should never be allowed to fall below 80% charge if battery longevity is sought. Are BMS (battery monitoring system) useful add-ons? Any help/advice appreciated. Thanks, oscar
