Nice idea, but I do not feel comfy when my car knows where it is, by GPS or so.

I am glad to have my Smart and my Insight. They're both as dumb as a slice of bread.

My Insight had 75 mpg today with A/C partially on. There's not much to improve here.

A better way: a 5 stroke or a 6 stroke engine, for example. Of course that would not be a DIY thing.

I see what you are saying, but, I think that in a case where you have a single person, sitting on his arse, there really aren't that many BTUs being generated. And the air outside is generally very warm and humid.

Most of you are forgetting defrost has a dehumidifier function performed by. And then heated. Dry air clears foggy glass better hot or cold. I've had ice form on the outside@40°f outside temperature. in a 06 Subaru Forister xt i once had fun car. My point is. If your defrost is on then so is your ac no mater what the ac light says my Subaru would just flash the ac light at me if I tryed to turn the compressor off. (in the cab not with a kill switch )
