Mercedes-Benz has released at least two prototypes which had on-board methanol reformators to turn it into Hydrogen.

Methanol is actually quite simple, even inmates can make it at jail, as it often happens in Brazil when inmates attempt to make some sort of booze known as "Maria Louca" (Crazy Mary) but when fermentation is not so accurately controlled they accidentally turn it into methanol.

I just learned Toyota has been selling the Mirai (hydrogen car). According to Wikipedia, they have sold over two hundred more than Elio!

They also cost about $60,000: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota...#United_States

Sounds like a hydrogen car.
Impossibly expensive and no fuel out side of a tiny special area.
