Jimbo installed a supercharger, dramatically improving performance, and got up to 74 MPG.
I don't have any idea what it was and I haven't tried to find out.
I only heard it that one time.
I just hope I don't hear the ghost of Christmases past for the final!
That looks interesting!

I miss the short novella about how your life is going.
As for me, I'm learning about Gaussian Splatting from someone named Jack Wang [snicker].
That's the most ebullient person I've seen in ever. The last few seconds suggest the .OBJ file is saved with materials. You have an iPhone don't you?

An amazing little lady agreed to marry me for some reason and Jimbo continued working on an Insight
Back to the incredible little lady!

Thank you very much! I greatly appreciate it!
There was a new video on Sunday, but I don't want to create a new post in case anyone hasn't seen the good news.
Jimbo made a new supercharger pulley, making much more horsepower without worsening the fuel economy, but the stock Insight (with disabled hybrid) was still drastically faster. Happy Easter everyone! Jimbo gave the Insight an energy drink! Jimbo says that running lean will damage engines as he modifies his Insight:

Happy Mother's Day, everyone.
Jimbo compared the 0-60 time of the stock and his supercharged diesel.
The stock one is a second or two slower than it is supposed to be--and the supercharged diesel is another 10 seconds slower.
Then he 3d-printed mounts for the computer-controlled fuel rack limiter and the computer-controlled blowoff valve, which provides linear boost control.
He put aluminum inserts in each mount.

I don't know how many of you were following this--and how many who did followed directly on YouTube, but while I wait for my computer to search for the old password file which I use frequently, I am going to update this, and then try to graduate this year.
I was supposed to submit my data analysis by the last day of last semester, but that was the first day of the national convention, which seemed like the best place to recruit study participants and network.
I thought that I could manage all of my commitments and still go and I could have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those pesky kids!
Actually, I think that I had a panic attack the two nights before the convention.
I just know that I didn't sleep at all that night, I was tossing and turning...
My heart was racing and I struggled to calm down.
I didn't think that I could get my wife and I to the airport at 0330, get through security, fly to Washington, get our rental, and wander around the convention center until 1600, when I could finally check into the hotel and crash, so we stayed home, and I finally slept.
I think that it took me two months to find 70 participants, although my advisor told me to continue when I had 40.
I don't know that this is important, but I figured the least I could do was try to collect as much data as possible.
It turns out that thousands of data points are difficult to manage!
Once I felt that I had enough participants, my professor told me to create pivot tables, and get back to her, so I made 20 pivot tables, one for each question, except for many I had an "Other (Please explain)" option.
Half the time, the knuckleheads selected that and then didn't explain.
Once I made dozens of pivot tables, I made charts for each, dozens of them.
I submitted them and she said "No! We segregate boys from girls!"
We ended desegregation when she was a kid, but okay.
So, now I had 40-50 pivot tables, and dozens of graphs, which I submitted, and she said "No no no! These are all wrong! You don't have any idea what you are doing! You needed to meet with me in January so I could tell you!"
"I didn't have the data. Once I got the data, I made the pivot tables and charts, you told me to redo everything, so I did."
"You needed to meet with me in January so I could tell you!"
She obsesses over telling me to meet with her and she admits to being scatterbrained.
I'm not saying I'm better, but she kept telling me to meet with her on Monday, but she wasn't available until Thursday, and I spent an hour asking "What do you want me to do today?"
If I had a scholarship for every time that she said "You needed to meet with me in January!"
So, this is one thing she told me to change:

I think that it looks much better, but I don't know how to do that efficiently.
There was some kind of deadline on Monday or Tuesday and allegedly, if I didn't meet it, not only would I not graduate this year, but I would need to pay tuition for another year to graduate then, so I worked on this on my own throughout the week, and for the past 7 days have worked on this every chance I had.
It looks like I will need to discard almost all of it.
I am doing clinicals with another professor who suggested that if I showed the advisor that I was working hard, she would approve me to graduate, but when I met with her yesterday, she kept saying "I don't think you can do this in-time."
"I have worked on this for at least 12 hours a day for 6 days."
"Yes, but you didn't meet with me in January! You don't know what you are doing!"
So, if I don't graduate on-time, it isn't that I didn't work hard enough, it is because I didn't work obsessively early enough to get her to slowly tell me what to do.
Anyway! Car videos! He has released about 25 videos since, but what is the point in watching?!
He has been installing gas engines into electric golf carts to power their electric motor.

Without hearing the other side, it appears that you are immersed in the end state of the Marxist Long March through the Institutions. For a male, that's a losing hand.
Twelve videos {give or take) choked my browser tab.

Jimbo works on an Insight again! :D
He replaces a supercharger with a turbo: He says that his accountant, which readers interpret as his wife, says that he needs to work on this car and his Renault or get rid of them.
What about the other silver Insight of the same generation?
He also says that he loses money when he dives deep into electronics (which are his background), so he will only do an occasional episode.
It is weird because there are electronics channels.
Does he need to shock himself?!

In electronics, you have a huge multi layered process to "fix" something, cant just point to a single discrete 2 lead component anymore and replace it. Won't even start about chineseium parts.

Jimbo got better fuel economy in his turbo diesel Insight than his stock one!
However, it wasn't as good as when it has the supercharger!
At the end, he said he was trying to find an automotive turbo.
I only have one week of school left, which are just clinicals (although they always say I have another quarter of clinicals from July to September).
I kept completely redoing my 42-page research project, my advisor would tell me to make a ton more changes, sometimes undoing the last changes or at least changing them a third way, and then telling me to schedule an appointment, which she would probably reject.
We tested some individuals and all of our therapy is in Spanish.
I speak Spanish, I just don't know all of the speech terminology, especially this type of testing, which I had only done in class.
I regularly don't know (or remember) conversational vocabulary.
I just need more practice.
I took as many notes as I could, but I write slowly, and still have difficulty reading it.
Everyone says "If you write slower, it will be neater!"
It is too slow already!
My professors had me use my notetaking app, but it didn't do well with a random person with disabilities--and they kept randomly using English words.
My notes were only good for part of it, although the head professor debriefed me afterwards, so that was great, and my app and I were able to understand her vastly better than the client.
Still, I spent hours and hours going through the audio because the app didn't get it right.
I finally completed and submitted the report (as much as I could) and resumed working on my research project, with the added difficulty of needing to figure out where I left off.
I was positive that I had gone through all of the comments she left, but I needed to make sure, and that was v7.
I had a v8, but I may never know what went into that.
I had made a list of recurring themes in the beginning, which my professor highlighted.
I made an outline and she edited it.
It seems like whenever she edits my work, I need to fix it.
If nothing else, she has many typos.
The outline didn't match the part she highlighted and towards the end she wrote a third list, which of course didn't match.
I finally came up with one list to rule them all, which of course, was long.
The one good thing was I asked Gemini to reorganize each section according to my final list without editing the content and it cranked them out for me.
That would have taken me forever!
Then Word froze and I wondered when I last saved!
It only autosaves if I use the cloud.
It only autorecovers if I have previously saved it, but at least I had done that--for my research project.
I formatted everything Gemini reorganized for me in another document, which I hadn't saved, but it still recovered.
No consistency!
So, I lost a few minutes, but then saved, and backed up.
I think that I finished most of her demands, so now I need to start requesting appointments which will have an 80% chance to be rejected.
Happy Memorial Day!
