pointy beak = splitter ahead of a blunt object to separate the airflow. i understand that a raindrop is the most aero shape, but putting a mouth on the front of that wouldn't likely work well.

agreed, but the F-16 has a long way to go to equal the F-22, looks aren't everything, especially in the military

My favorite jets are the SR-71 (pure speed), F-16 (sex appeal) and A-10(so ugly it has to be good)
