Ive had mine up to 250F at the air box inlet. The knock sensor takes care of the timing retard.

If you have uncooled egr, like my car, you will see pretty high temps if you measure them. I see my highest temperatures at around 55-60 cruising and anytime its above 85° ambient.

Reading all of this is interesting. Recently I've noticed my IAT at 150 or above (ambient temps at around 90 outside) and at the same time, my MPGs have been suffering. I HAD assumed that the car didn't like these temps, but reading this post makes me think that perhaps something else is going on...

Also, my IAT is mostly due to under-hood temps being high as a result of the underbody and grill block. What is a safe limit for under-hood temps?
