Daihatsu Midget - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
http://www.daihatsumidget.co.uk
this thing gets according to the manuf. 4l/100km (70MPG imperial~60MPG US)

Not bad , I think whoever is interested in buying this could "do it up" a bit and squeeze even better mileage...
I was looking at the van version as well, that thing would make a very funky commuter car

i had a 5 speed mailed from Japan ( express mail 3 days !) so it now has a overdrive 5 speed . this helped the top speed and mileage. It has 1 seat from the factory, i also made an adapter to put in 2 boat seats and belts.
parts are easy , it has the same drive train as a K mini truck.

I'm still liking the insanely small, enclosed vehicle scene... I've been looking for a mini-truckster or something locally for awhile now. Hopefully it sells for you!

The only downside to getting one of those trucks, for me anyway, is that I can get similar mileage in a larger, potentially more comfortable vehicle. If the engines used in those types of trucks were, for instance, a 3 cylinder CVCC variant, or something similar, that would be much more appealing, since one could easily see 75 MPG plus with them, and it would be hard to beat that with "normal" cars. They'd have a lot more appeal than they currently do, since highway/road space isn't really as much of an issue in the US.

Obviously, congestion occurs, but it's not like it is in "developing" countries, and areas which weren't designed for cars, like parts of Italy.

I need something along this line for a 35 mile, one way, drive to work. Part of it is 65mph 4 lane, but I've gotta get 40+mpg. Will this do it? Is the carb still being wonky? I'm in North Central MS.

Off topic to this thread (I might have bought your mini if I didn't have a subaru 360)

Anyway I have been looking to get a 4 or 5sp Daihatsu Move (also called a perudua kanari) transmission imported and I am curious who, where, and how much you got yours for?

I have had a great deal of difficulty getting any dice buying a transmission for my Miles daihatsu move clone.

My other thread is in the fossil fuel free forum topic Miles ZX40

Thanx
Ryan
