I used to make regular trips down to North Carolina from where i'm at in Michigan. Total trip time was 14 and a half hours and I would only make 2 stops, only to refuel use the bathroom and hop back in my car and get underway again. I utilized the 20oz coke bottles a few times. I would have to agree if you make a mess one time you won't do it again. Thankfully I made the trips at night so when I did get out of my car after I made a mess no one was there to see it.

What, you think those burn piles are made of clean trash? Cigarettes have filters on them, and are much healthier than the "fresh" air.

I spent much of my deployment on one small checkpoint. They had running water, you just could not drink it, and they even had a bathroom, but we were not allowed to use the local-national style toilets--er--holes in the floor. They filled up the latrine and needed to build a new one. You are supposed to burn out the pit, but they never did that while I was there.

I just hoped they did that while I was on mission.

Our port-a-johns got pumped out by a truck, which drove outside the berm and dumped it. One watch tower was not a good assignment. One area didn't get patrolled too aggressively at night.
