The Scab is dead:( long live the BMW:)

After 5 months and 7500 miles, the Scaaaaaab has passed away

Its eating coolant at the rate of 1 Litre a day (covering 50 miles) plus it has a blow in the exhaust (at a flexi Joint)

Couple that to the tax running out, and we had a dilemma on our hands

the problem was solved with this..

a 1995 BMW e36 318iS (16v 140bhp) with MOT til Nov

So far its had a new radiator and new front brakes, but otherwise seems grand.

Any ideas for Aero? I think I'll be keeping it a bit longer than the Scaab- ainming for 250 miles to 23.64 L this week.

Rear wheel skirts

pizza pan on the front (tones of mount points with all those spokes),

best option might be to re-do the lower front bumper for something with a bit more of a angle to will bring air up and around. Its very flat and angled slightly inwards.

Remove the wing

Underpan any concaves surfaces under the chassis

And remember to post pictures :-)

The m3 bumper for this model is much more "Scoopy" as you suggest

I'd like to avoid wheelskirts for the moment as I want the car to be Stock outside- less likely to attract attention..

I was thinking more along the lines of an underbelly, rear wing removal and possibly a WAI

on the plus side, the first fill yeilded 39+ UK MPG

the second fill will be lower, but it did do 45 laps of a track flat out.. Still hoping for over 400 from that tank.
