I've noticed not only spoilers, but whole rear sections that curve up, mostly in a few Nissan models. Take the Nissan Note, for example. The otherwise nice curve of the roof is spoiled by the rear suddenly flattening out. And it's not just the rear lights, it's the whole roof!
Add to that the 'frogeye' position lights that stick out in the front and huge trucksize side mirrors and you stop wondering why the Cd is so high (0.33). I've seen this car up close (Dad-in-law's new ride) and it's not kammback friendly
In fact, there's really not much that can be done to improve it without a welder.
