Hello -

The serving tray had long term durability issues. This is what happens when you leave black polystyrene lying in the sun for a month or two :

So I moved to the traditional pizza pan :

However, this is an aluminum pizza pan that WILL NEVER RUST.

I also got the number of mounting pieces reduced from 10 to 4 :

I used furniture feet because they grab onto the faux lug nut and will never come off. Also notice that the furniture feet have their tops sanded off. This makes the disk more flush to the wheel.

I made a square out of balsa-wood to find the center (different pizza pan shown) :

This worked fine for me, but there are better ways to do it in this thread :

http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...pan-15993.html

This has been working since July 2010.

The only real defect in the design is the gap between the pan and the wheel :

This is because I ordered the pizza pan from a kitchen supply e-store, so I had to rely on their stated measurements. Still, I could claim that this "feature" allows for some brake ventilation.

The thought has crossed my mind. But then I ran over it. If the thought survives my parietal lobe, it may yet happen.

Thanks for the info, I will be trying a similar design shortly. I just have to complete a few projects prior.

Cool. If you go with my mounting solution then you need to have bolts with "external" wheel cover mounting threads on them like my car has :

More Information for DORMAN 611109

There are tons of plastic bolt caps at Pep Boys and I assume other car parts stores. Here is a side view based on the threaded lug nut :
