Hi,

Well, the upper grill block and the fog lights covers together added ~4MPG on my xA. Nothing silly about that. In fact once you find out how small the grill opening can be and still have the car stay cool, you realize how silly the way oversized openings are!

If you try out how they work with tape, then sure make "permanent" blocks out of better looking materials. My theory of grill blocks is that they have to close the openings from the edges in order to work.

Your RPM sound very similar to mine with a standard shift; which is too bad. The Yaris and the Echo have the same engine, and they have taller gearing.
