Should I buy this car?

Well, I test drove an aveo today. It was a spur of the moment thing. I was riding my bike and noticed a for sale sign. I was writing the phone number down and then the guy came out. He asked if I wanted to test drive it.

2004 Aveo, 5speed, 33,000miles, cd player, out of inspection, somewhat worn condition considering the mileage, no ac.

but it is only $3,000

I might offer him $2,700. I really don't need a car. I have one that works good it just is getting a bit old (170k).

I have given it some thought and decided not to buy it (I still would like to hear peoples thoughts about it). It was a good deal but I really don't need a car yet and aveos are cheapo cars anyways.

(assuming you were still interested)

I'm not an Aveo fan, but it's mighty tempting. If you are on the fence, I would suggest that you get a CarFax of the VIN, if nothing else.

But the main thing is that if you don't *need* a car, then you can "wait" for the next good bargain to come along.

I've been trolling for used cars on ebay and kelly-blue-book, but I think it's just virtual window shopping on my part. I could afford a used "bargain" car, but I can't really *justify* the car.

The 2004-2005 really drink a lot. Parts are also very expensive since you can only get them at the dealer.
