Smaller is better
Haven't got her plated yet but hope to. My state doesn't like em but there is apparently work-arounds. Supposed to be pretty good on gas at under 1700 pounds. https://imgur.com/a/cg6pXdu

More alternative transportation I suppose.
Been a multi year project that we use as we restore. Pita actually, can't convince my wife into a modern camper. She likes it too much.
The Mitsubishi minicab isn't likely ever gunna get checked for mpg. It's an impulse auction buy that's just a toy. The hardest part about driving a right hand drive isn't actually driving it, or even shifting with the wrong hand. The hard part is remembering to approach the right hand side of the truck when you want to get in it. I keep going to the wrong side.

I've got a 1962 pseudo-Airstream (Mobile Industrial -- it's a long story) with fiberglass end caps. Also live in/restore.
If it's a toy, have you seen SEMA this year: www.attackingtheclockracing.com/blogs/builds/sema-23-time-attack-kei-truck-at-toyo-treadpass

I saw that Sema kei. It's awesome.
By toy I mean that I have no use for it. Just always thought they were cool. Literally impulse bought it at an auction. Won't likely have it very long. Having fun fixing it up, adding goodies, bombing around my yard in the snow, etc. Something else will come along that I "need"and I'll move on to the next toy. I drive my wife nuts with this kind of stuff but she did have fun driving it. She was laughing.

Those JDM mini trucks are quite cool. I like the cab-forward layout, even though my grandmother used to complain about how unsafe it would be in a crash... But it's the best to increase the useful loading lenght in such a tiny truck.

Crash protection and ride quality are important factors. Mass alone doesn't make for a safe vehicle but geometry and material strength factor in. How good is it in the snow? Streamlined motorcycles and diesel kit cars are known for high mile per gallon cruising. Time to put the fairing on my bicycle for winter.

Most JDM stuff has either part-time 4WD or full-time AWD available exactly due to snow which is quite common in Japan.
