Can you easy-remove the passenger seat for more hauling volume?

I'd like a peek at:
-engine access for maintenance
-cargo area - I know it's small. See if you can show it with the tailgate down.
-seating area with two normal-sized humans in it: how tightly packed? Room enough to sneeze without hurting passenger?
-ask how long before they get smart about aero and add skirts/wheelcovers.

And also: envy. I'd love to give one a try, but I'm not ponying up for something that small/expensive that requires premium. Forget that.

what happens when you key off while moving?

What in specific about this? I'm sure I can just kick it into neutral and key off, but I won't know how it affects the transmission.

I've been meaning to get a drive in a ForTwo over here in the UK for a while - I really should get around to it at some point. Ideally, I'd like to try the diesel, and the petrol with the Micro (Not a)Hybrid Drive.

What I do know in answer to elhigh's question about space is that there's plenty of it. Even in the older ForTwo there was loads of space and the newer car is supposed to be even bigger inside.

It has a neutral? So you could EOC? If you could sort some eoc compatible feedback on it, I might suggest adding 800 pounds of "stuff" and see if it helps with the "c" :)

When they first brought the Smart Fourtwo to Canada I test drove one. I'm 6ft tall and my wife is 5'6" and we both fit in no problem, it was very comfortable. We test drove the diesel version and it was pretty peppy. It had the floor shifters and paddle shifters, you could put it in manual mode and shift like by pushing either the shifter or paddles or you could leave it in auto and just drive. Manual mode was a little jerky somewhat like a regular person driving a manual. There was space for a few grocery bags behind the seat or a couple of small suitcases. The motor was easy to get too, it was under a hatch door behind the seats. There was only a can of tire sealant and a air compressor, no spare tire. They are selling ones for around the same price I paid for my Aveo, but I get a spare tire, four doors and a rear seat so the kids can ride along, and a gas engine that is easier to run in the winter time. I liked the Smart car, I just didn't see it as a primary car but rather a secondary runabout for doing errands in the city.

how bad is the revised automatic transmission. I've heard it's crazy jerky in traffic. This is very high on my list of commuter cars but if it's not a smooth ride I'll take my money somewhere else.

I actually find space to be really lacking. I had to fold down the passenger seat today to bring a box to ship and the box still blocked the full rear view.
