Arrow SOLD: My 1997 Honda Civic HX 5 Speed

Name: Rick R
Location: Flourtown, PA 19031
Contact Info: PM or Reply Here

Price: 3000

Description: Hello. I'm selling my Honda. Info is as follows:

Year: 1997
Make: Honda
Model: Civic
Trim: HX
Trans: 5 speed manual
Engine: 1.6L VTEC-E
Miles: 155,XXX

More on the fuel efficiency: For those who are unaware, the HX model is a High Efficiency model. It has a VTEC-E motor which goes into lean burn mode on the highway under the right conditions. This optimizes gas mileage while in lean burn mode. With mixed driving I average 42 MPG. If driven all highway this vehicle can obtain 45+ MPG.

The bad:Paint isn't perfect, there are several scratches. Interior is fairly clean. Couple small things: Driver side door lock is sticky/harder than passenger side; Driver side fender is dark green (not bad, just different); HVAC bulbs are intermittent on/off (I assume it's just a loose wire/plug).

The good: Car is PA inspected until November of next year (2014)! Brand new tires all around! Brand new front brake rotors and pads. Brand new wipers. Brand new adjustable coil overs with spanner wrenches. Brand new ACT clutch. Brand new stainless exhaust system with stainless muffler (It's not a fart pipe/ricer exhaust). Wheels just painted OD Green as shown in the photos. Has a front lip. Just had an alignment and most of the work above done at F.A.S.T. of West Chester. I have the receipts.

I bought this solely as my commuter vehicle to/from work to achieve max MPG. It is great but I'm looking for even higher MPG in a VW diesel or Honda Civic VX. This is the absolute only reason I'm selling it. Title in hand!!! Will upload some interior photos shortly.

$4000 obo or will trade for the right VW Diesel or Honda Civic VX model. Must be 5 speed manual. Thank you.

Rear of the car is 1" higher than in the photos as I raised the coil overs. Photos below:

The only thing I'd be worried about is the lack of AC. Right now obviously that's not a problem, but with driving it daily to work when it's 90-100* here in summer just wouldn't really work without AC. I appreciate the offer, though!

Just an MPG update. FWIW: I use the same pump at the same station every time I fill up. This past tank I got stuck in traffic twice, for a total of 45 minutes of additional stop and go traffic. The tank before I got stuck once in traffic. This is the first full tank with the "aero mods" on the front of the car.

Crappy iPhone 4 interior photos (without any cleaning lol):

And the reason I jumped from 38-42 MPG (Obviously it can be removed with ease, but it's working great right now!):
