I must admit, this article Spark Plug Tech Guide tends to bias me a bit towards the Denso iridium

Check out RockAuto.com for your plugs to compare prices, they have a very nice online catalog I think and their prices are tuff to beat. At least they have all the plugs listed there with their model numbers.

I would tend to agree with that article after working as mechanic for around 20+ yrs .
When platinum was big buzz word and even many OEM were using them for 60k+ miles . I have gotten mixed results using Bosch platinum plugs on vehicles that didn't come with them . I am not sure it was plug design or a heat range not being exactly right but the sometimes missed more at part throttle than OEM ones . they do last much longer but thats not important if they don't perform right .
Now a days the ignition systems are much better than old distributor types, things like CD (capacitive discharge) systems which did help old systems don't do much in modern ones .

my 2008 honda accord K24Z2 PZEV plugs are 26$ as piece online , these are dual tipped NGK iridiums . As comparison the ULEV-2(49 State Emissions ) are half price at 12$ a piece .

Here about half way down they describe the dual probe plugs .

It is a 4 cylinder Honda , look at link I posted . K24 is L4 and J35 is there V6 , have not checked what v6 prices would be but probably similar for same emission type .
The PZEV parts in general are much higher, sometimes 2x , things like cats , plugs .

I was thinkin more like the NGK IX plugs at $6.41. Still not cheap, but to me they seem the best value for something you only spring for every 4 yrs if not more, probably the last plugs you'll buy for the car if you don't travel for a living.

I'm surprised at "mixed" results. My experience with the common variety Bosch platinum plugs has been almost uniformly negative. The expensive ones are fine, but the (relatively) cheap ones you can get everywhere suck. Lousy quality control. And the +2 and +4 are the same crappy plugs with extra electrodes welded on.

NGKs only for my CRX.
