It's more of a moral/ethical issue for me. I may be in a position to do it, and it's becoming more difficult to support a 29-year old vehicle.
The added weight isn't a game changer. At 97% thermodynamic efficiency, compared to a possible 36% for Toyota's 4-banger, the motor will shrug off the weight, and harvest back 81% of the kinetic energy of braking, presently completely lost with the ICE.
We're talking 140-mpg-e HWY as a BEV.

You still have the Karmann Ghia and/or Civic don't you? I want to put an entire Armimoto FUV drivetrain and suspension in something. Maybe my '58 Baja.

Yeah, the Ghia, Transporter, two CRXs, and the Dodge. It's a sickness.

'table 'complete''

I believe that I've scraped the bottom of the barrel of my archive, and added all the loose ends to the #1 ( permalink) on page-one of this thread. One may find additional qualifiers at the drag coefficient table at the top of the AERODYNAMICS forum. I'll wait for my eyes to un-cross before I look there.
