I was pretty sure you have the 2.2. If you're curious, the engine family and size is stamped onto the top front of the block and should be EJ22.

Damn, I guess my memory is faulty, but I just plugged in the numbers to my calculator and, sure enough, you're at 23.69 mph/1000 rpm. That's a much bigger difference than I remembered (that or I did my math wrong before). Well, I can tell you you'll have no problem pulling the biggest tire you can fit, but it won't make a huge difference as it would take about a 235/70 15 to match the 3.7 FD I have (27 mph/1000 rpm in top), which wouldn't fit without some serious work and would have terrible rolling resistance and drag.
