Thanks aerohead, although I think the xfi convertible has a lot of nice touches in it. In fact, he's only a few miles from where I grew up!

As for putting the pipes under tension, its made of thin wall EMT. at 1$ for 10 foot its hard to go wrong, but it is extremely 'wobbly'. By pulling them into each other a bit and tieing them together, it takes a lot of the 'wobble' out. If you look at the pictures, you can tell the 5 pieces that actually touch the car are all bending a bit, which is where the tension (clamping) is coming from.

It wasnt a bad attachment method, although I dont know if I'd do it again. I learned too late that it was scratching the car some, hence the masking tape wrapped on in some of the pictures.
