Survey says: Chevrolet is more reliable than Honda and Toyota!
Those are all of the useful details from the ad. Obviously, it is Chevrolet.

They then list the thirty-two brands of cars these people owned. Is it significant that less than 6% of people receiving junk mail responded? 1. Do you still own or lease this vehicle? 2. Are you the original owner of the vehicle? 3. Has your vehicle required a repair in the last twelve months? Quote:

So, the Ipso-facto survey treats a blown head gasket or thrown rod equally with a panel gap. |
So buy a 2015?

Consumer Reports' 2015 Annual Auto Reliability Survey

https://www.consumerreports.org/cars...bility-survey/ Toyota was #2 (and #1), Honda was #8, and Chevrolet was #20--out of 28. |
The thing is, I've never cared how reliable a car is while under warranty. It's not my problem regardless.
Reliability matters after the vehicle is out of warranty and owners are stuck with the bill for repair. Perhaps VW has better than average reliability for vehicles under warranty, but there's no way the older vehicles hold up better than average. |

I bought a 2006 Acura in 2010, so I think the bumper to bumper had just expired, but the powertrain should have been covered for another 2 years.
Still, I don't expect major problems within the first 6 years of ownership. I just had the first thing fail on my Acura, which is the cruise control switch. Bought a new one for $1 and haven't put it in yet, but should be super easy. It would be a shorter to list what hasn't been replaced multiple times on my 1998 Dodge 3/4 ton. To be fair, it's got 350,000 miles, but some basic parts like low pressure fuel pumps only go 20,000 miles before crapping out. |

A bit surprised to see Kia and especially Audi up there. Honda and Toyota have both been rock solid as far as reliability goes, and from my own family's experience Honda has been a bit more reliable than Toyota, but you'll find people arguing for both. We've owned both (Sienna, Civic, Prius, Insight). Vehicles 10-15 years old.

Mini being above Chevy makes the whole data set suspect
I would expect mini somewhere below Chrysler Further newer VWs are some of the biggest turds ever created, timing belts, injection pumps and failed auto transmissions just outside warranty. The interior was uncleanable, even the glovebox broke, hidden bolt and all. |
