Tell me about your Dakota

I've got an old dakota I drive to school. It's a '92 and it has about 76,000 miles on it. I love it. It has the 5.2 318ci v8, and it's 2wd. I am on track for over 20mpg on this tank and I hope to get 25 out of it some day. It's only rated for 14.

The only problems I've had was the rpm gauge drained the battery for some reason. I took it into the shop and about the 5th shop I went to figured it out and now the rpm gauge is unplugged.... The starter was also replaced recently but that is because it is an older truck with a bigger engine - it just wore out.

Thanks. I'm looking for a vehicle that will temporarily be a daily driver, then it will likely be parked most of the time once wifey gets a compact car (we carpool to work). So it is a bit of a toss-up. However, I don't need to tow more than 4k in the worst case scenario, so a full size truck is never going to be fully utilized.

I'm hoping not to have to put effort in to get 20mpg... that sucks. I've driven one of those old dakotas... that thing is a beast.
