Tesla to race in NASCAR Sprint Cup series

Awesome! Instead of a pit crew worker diving over the wall with a gas can it will be two guys running to slam a fresh battery into place.

The Government would be sponsoring TESLA. Call it another green initiative.

Either way, still a spectacular waste of tax money.

But just to give some perspective of the prospectus of electric racing, an electric motorcycle one the open two wheel class at Pike's Peak this year.

I would not advise government subsidies of any kind, the free market will set the best price. Competition ensures that.

Not gonna happen in NASCAR anytime soon. The stock cars are very heavy and that is not good for electric racing. However, e-motorcycles are very competitive in some racing series (like the Pike's Peak climb).

"Two wrongs don't make a right." Applies here.

As much as I believe in Tesla as a company (and as an idea, triple digit share holder speaking) I still think they shouldn't be receiving subsidiaries.

Kind of sad this is an April fools joke. Audi won with a diesel at Le Mans a few years back, would love to see an electric car go head to head with a gas one. (Or even diesel for that matter )
