Took me a while to figure out that other was an F-head layout. The only F-heads that I remember with the exhaust valves on the head were some Moto Guzzi engines, while all others had the intake over exhaust.

Two-stroke radial:
Every part of this is innovative. Radial with even number of cylinders, no master connecting rod, two intake/one exhaust ports to promote swirl, low parts count, no reduction gearing.
I don't understand the connecting rod bearings.

Hmm non odd arrangement? Means it doesn't need to fire sequentially. No shakey shakey
Most aircraft radials are/were direct drive. Only geared ones I know of were very high displacement trying to not overspeed the prop tip past sonic on a monster diameter.
