Someone posted a picture of using binoculars to project the eclipse onto a paper. Would a telescope have worked? What about an overhead projector?

"Kčk" is exactly the way the Dutch word "Kijk" (Look, watch) is pronounced in my birth town The Hague. Were they Dutch tourists?

"Keek" is a common Scottish word too (many common words in Scots, Dutch, German and Nordic (Polis)). Means "Peep surreptitiously".

.
I live just outside of Charleston South Carolina, almost dead center in the path of totality.
The sky was overcast most of the day. There were however, openings in the cloud cover. (fingers crossed)
Then, as the big event was about to unfold......
A pop up thunderstorm killed any remote chance of that happening.
The next total eclipse to visit South Carolina will be in 2052.
If, I make it.
I'll be pushing 90...

2024 is local for me.
My house will be in the path of totality for May 1 2079's eclipse. My kids will be 73 and 70, one of them may still even own the place then.
That's a big part of the awesomeness- we know exactly when and where these will be, because Science.

If it red-pilled even one Flat Earther, it was worth it.
