Someone at Toyota got the memo about the way self-driving cars will be like riding a horse. But then they gave it their Attack-of-the-Mushroom-People treatment.
The result will appear at the Tokyo Auto Show,
reports the BBC. And
International Business Times.
Most of the reporting I've seen focuses on the ride-standing-up mode, but none of that points to the problem I see—the side by side stance. Any skate- or snowboarder (or city bus rider
) would prefer a fore and aft stance. And none of it mentions the sit down, closed canopy mode or graphics imbedded in the skin and wheels.
I'm having to rethink my strategy of making a 4-wheel vehicle by using a reverse tricycle layout with rear 2 wheels in a tandem bogey.
