I don't really ever use the ladder rack but it's part of the frame so can't really be removed without compromising strength. I could build an aerocap but I've got 2 boat projects and a cj8 (be jealous. Be very jealous) I'm working on. I dont think bondo makes a commercial version of the aerocap for a ranger does he? I'm also kinda worried about it's structural integrity because I remove and reinstall often and would hate to break it from too much flex. A 50-200$ fiberglass cap is also very easy on the wallet compared to something new.

Okay, it will be a 3D model. I'll have to see whether displacement maps or a wave deformer is the better strategy. I post the result in the 'Buy a trailer...' thread to keep this one on topic.

Hey look, Bondo's cap has the feature I was thinking of. Still wondering about the box. If it's a narrow bed there is opportunity for plan taper.

Ok I'm not going aerocap. Was hoping someone had the computer program to do the air flow model or real world experience with both caps.

No direct experience, but a full cap has the same opportunities as a box van. Here is someone else's opinion:

In your case the cab bed gap will be less than 20% but greater than zero.

Edit:
Redneck -- I posted the trailer design here.
