More wheels and tires are being bougth for the next tests:
Now I have 2 sets 195/60R18 e primacys.
215/55R18 Continentals
For those I have 7x18, 7,5x18 and 8x18 wheels to see which strech is best for handling.
205/60R18 vredestein are being bought next.
215/65R17 Hankook Ventus S1 EVo3 EV . This will be interesting size as the compound and the tire outside diameter is same as Tesla Hankooks (very close same compound). These will most likely come to 7,5x17 wheels.
I am also little bit tempted to buy 205/55R19 eprimacys, but there 8x19 wheels are tricky to get secondhand.

All tires are A rolling resistance except the continental is B and the OEM 255/45R19 Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 EV will be the reference set.

My prototype in test:
  • car wash - no problem
  • 100 mph (160 kph) - no problem
  • standing water (not done, yet)

Lessons learned:
  • ZIP heads holding pizza pan on the inside of tire
  • buff painted surface to dull surface to match tire
  • paint and buff "road rash" on correct wheels
  • paint and buff wheel inner hub and lug nuts
  • chest mount LED light at night

I'll do two series of three-speed benchmark: 30 mph; 55 mph, and; 75 mph. The first without the wheel covers and the second with.

Finally got protowheels with similar looks.
https://youtu.be/MYWfjHEfvG8

My instructions how to make those blocking plates as easy as possible with very nice looks:
https://youtu.be/GK01mFnBK6k

If you are using acrylic sheets which are in correct color then you dont have problems with paint not sticking which was my biggest downfall with 1mm thick aluminum plates that I painted, and glued and just few weeks of driving paint started to come off. Plates are still there as you migth have seen from other videos.

How they should look when finished.
