Updated Audi A2

Hello,

I hope that Audi brings the A2 to North America! They are apparently working on a lighter weight version of this already pretty aerodynamic car:

I hope they bring out a new, next-gen A2 that's all the original one was, and then better !

Yes! Yes! Then hopefully the old A2's price will go down.
My Wife loves the both the VW Lupo and the Audi A2, but thinks the latter is prettier.

I personally doubt the new A2 would be better (eco-wise) than the first generation. Look at other ecocars: Is the Insight II better than the 2000 model? Is the gen 3 Prius better than the gen 2? Even the prototypes become worse and worse before they get close to production (VW 1L -> L1 -> XL1).

The current Polo does 3.3 L/100 km - 71.2mpg .
If they fitted that to an even lighter A2, it could work.
But it won't come cheap.

Mostly because they are aimed at different markets and are really different cars despite the name.

And with the CR-Z Honda decided to build a sports-hybrid rather than a fuel-sipper

I love this little A2 kammback , especially with the 3 cyl. diesel in it.

I would remove the rear seat and bolt a sheet of plywood from the back hatch to the back of the front seats. A mini , mini van.
