That's a very good point.Perhaps if compound curves were used throughout,the unit would enjoy the benefits of the eggshells remarkable integrity and strength.

how hot does the plastic have to be. could it be emersed in a trough of 200 degree water.

A valid point.
Some of the plastics deserve a lot of respect in that regard apart from the foul smells.
