Vetter Challenge 2015

The Vetter challenge is coming up on July 12th. Anyone else planning to go? If so what are you riding? I didn’t think Firefly would be ready but now she’s within striking distance. Not going to be much time for shakedown and I’m not sure if I trust a Chinese scooter to go 1000 miles in one weekend. Especially since I haven’t put 100 miles on her since she arrived last fall.

That is the prettiest Chinese Scooter i've seen in years-I love your skill with the Coroplast! Does the 'roof' strip give any weather protection and Aero benefits or is it simply helping anchor the windscreen and tailbox to each other?

Thank you for the complement. Mostly it holds the windshield to the tail. Won't know how it works til i get caught in the rain. I have to finish mounting windshield and mirrors before her first spin around the block.

Very nice work. Wish I could attend the Vetter Challenge too. My motorized bike is not street legal in NY or OH just PA. Family events conflict this year. The tail box is similar to what I plan for my mountain bike and I have purchased foam pipe insulation to fill the gap between my back and back rest. Enjoy!

Check out pool noodles. They come in cool colors and at least 2 diameters. I purchased some cloth this week for the seat back. With luck it will give a nice round aerodynamic edge as it pulls around the pading.

The pipe insulation is a larger diameter than my pool noodles so I plan to use that around the head rest.
