a friend had difficulty keeping the 4-banger alive.He ended up putting a 265 CID Chevy V-8 and slushbox out of a wrecked 56 BelAir into it.
His girlfriend (later wife) was forbidden to ride in it,due to the half-dozen u-joints in the steering shaft to get around the wider engine.
His was red,We put flames on it.You'd probably barf if you'd seen it.
Ah yes,Southern California!
