Volvo suspends production of Electric C30
I don't think it has hit the US greenish news scene yet, but Volvo is to suspend the production of their electric C30 after 250 examples have been built.
Cost is too high, and demand too low.
It probably doesn't help either that Volvo only sells them to companies and gov't institutions .
If you ain't willing to sell it to the customer, don't complain you ain't selling enough of them.
But who would buy one, if even Volvo themselves admit it's effectively more of a prototype to test customer reaction ?
We can buy fully-grown EVs from Nissan and Renault or the Ampera/Volt clone.
The bottom line is Volvocars want more EU subsidies for EVs, so they paint a bleak picture for the introduction of EVs.
