I know the big 440 Chryslers with lean burn were getting 2+ mpg better than their Lincoln and Cadillac peers. I don't know this for a fact but I doubt their lean burn was as aggressive as VX and HX setups.

The Ford Variable venture carburetor has piqued my interest I have thought restricting the airflow could help reduce fuel use by de tuning the motor , i see they are using it to control the fuel air mixture
