VW 1 Litre, different look
Only pic I could find but looks a lot more finished for the market. Not sure which I like more. I'll take one of each.

Hiya,
It certainly does look like a production model -- maybe because they got the prototype down to a 0.83L/11km, they felt like they had a little room to make it more conventional and still hit the 1L/100km goal?
The side view mirror and the lack of the rear wheel skirts, are the most obvious aero changes.

Hmm... first pic looks photoshopped, or am I stating the obvious?

It's not a "photograph" as much as a computer generated image.

LOL, whatever They took the people sitting in a 1L and the background and even the plate and drew a blue car over it, using a computer of course.

I can see the chances of the new one going to production higher than the prototype. Its got a more marketable look to it. The prototype looks as radical as when the Insight came out or the EV1

The evolution from the second picture to the first one looks like the marketing department throwing away much of the good work from the engineering department ...

It must be a computer rendering. I'm actually surprised that it hasn't been changed even more drastically- guess I'm used to Detroit...
I like it. Even toned down how much less mpg are we talking? It's still gonna kick butt.

Hiya,
Here's a better looking version, that says it will be produced in 2010:
dealership-car: VW to produce 235mpg car for 2010
Plastic and magnesium (not carbon fiber like the prototype) and a 300cc engine, for 235mpg (not 283 of the prototype) -- produced in limited quantities.
