Waaaay off topic - Iron Man,space 'sounds' etc, in movies
Are you guys able to watch, ( and enjoy ) movies that have bad science in them ?
I can't enjoy any of the Iron Man movies, or any such movies, because I'm too critical in my mind over things that defy the laws of physics.
2001 A Space Odyssey had some good science in it, but Star Wars had all the 'sounds' wrong.
Iron Man / Avengers drives me insane.

I'm aware of the bad science but don't let it get to me as sci-fi is my favorite genera.
2001 is still one of my favorites partly because of the good science involved in the movie.
This subject isn't too far off topic since it is bad science that sets the incorrect expectation in consumers that the pointy end should be up front on cars or dealing with aerodynamics and aesthetics.

Its science fiction, its not science.
Fiction definition: invention or fabrication as opposed to fact.
Makes sense to me and doesn't make movies unwatchable or unenjoyable.

Obviously you just don't understand what science fiction is about. The stories are fiction: the science should either be real, be a reasonable extrapolation from known science, or be a "what-if" examination of changing (in a way that has an in-universe rationale) some basic premise of science or culture.
"Star Wars" &c are not science fiction. The anti-science parts like space noise, banking spaceships, &c aren't part of the plot, just crap thrown in to please the marching morons.

This begs a slightly different question. When you read the comics, do the bams and pows also ruin the reading experience for you?

I learned long ago to ignore such things and just immerse into the fantasy. Watching a movie or just about any other type of show- unless it's a documentary- is pretty much an escape into fantasy. Why ruin it? They don't care what you think. If you can't help dissecting it, stick to documentaries and such. Or, maybe you are getting your enjoyment from the critiquing process. Meh.
P.S. I really, really want my own Iron Man suit!!!

I don't consider the Marvel Cinematic Universe films "science fiction"; they're just fantasy, and, yes, I enjoy watching them.

But what if when a laser blaster is invented, it sounds nothing like you expect? I didn't think an electric pikes peak racer would sound like an ambulance coming up the hill, but it does. http://youtu.be/x9g-UbGT7O8
