WANTED: XFI 5 speed transmission and Cam

Hello,

I live in the middle Tn Area 38573 and am looking for an XFI 5 speed tranny and possibly cam.

I have recently bought a 1998 chevy metro that has the 1.0 engine and 5 speed. I'm in process of rebuilding engine and am looking to do an XFI conversion (kinda) I know the 98 weighs more but I still wanna do it.

I couldn't pass up car it was a one owner and in great condition. It has AC! lol which is something im going to require as I do a courier route.

If someone has an XFI tranny 5 speed tranny and cam, LEts talk! I would like to keep distance at 100 miles if possible.

thanks
Scott

Good luck. Not letting go of mine. I just put quartz-halogen headlights in it.

If it were the 1950s you could just take your cam to a cam regrinding shop and have it reground. Not sure about today.

Would you get ROI on a transmission swap? My XFi is only good for an indicated 65 or so. Compare the final drive ratios. Taller tires?

Something you might fabricate is the Eco light that comes on to prompt you to short shift through the gears. Or use a tach. The light is useful as a rough speedometer in the intermediate gears.

Your car has a 4.4 final, the xfi had 3.8 that is a big jump. The 95+ four cylinder stick Metros had the 3.8 ratio also. I would get a 4.1 out of an 89-94 three cylinder car. I bought a reground cam and 10 degree advanced cam gear when I assembled an xfi clone. It was from 3tech in Canada. They might still be around. Check on the Geometroforum.com.
