Besides all that, minimum wage historically was not intended to be a "living" wage (although I could very comfortably live on it). It was intended to introduce new workers such as high school students to the labor market, provide a little disposable income for those dependent people, and provide cheap labor for menial tasks.

Uh, the two extreme "sides" of a bell curve are rather SMALL for a reason -- because MOST (68.3%) things/people are "within" the middle (mean ±1-sigma) area of the curve!

Unfortunately, social-economics doesn't follow a bell curve when there are vastly more people on ONE side (poor) than on the OTHER side (rich) of the mean/median of that bell curve!
