Water pumps

Has anyone ever done an A-B-A on the water pump drag? I'm currently working on ways to heat my Ninja up, and a water heater won't work because I can't get on the low side of the engine, unless I bypass the water pump.

So this got me to thinking about the drag the pump represents, and the potential for going with an electric pump, if I can find one.

Aww, they make the exact thing I could use, and it's above my price range and shipping is murderous.

How is the pump normally driven? Maybe we can come up with a DIY solution...

There are cheap 12v bilge pumps, might be worth seeing how it does with heat and pressure and rig it in:

You could probably limp home on a slow p&g if it disintegrates
