The trmperatures around central america are tropical most likely year around. No tank heater. Only a heat exchanger from coolant line to preheat fuel. Wonder if the heat radiation from the engine would heat the fuel rail more than having armaflex on the fuel rail as the armaflex would keep some of the warmth from the heat exhanger fuel heater though it might block the heat radiation it would be absorb fromnthe engine area. Hmm.

When I had my diesel a 1,500W tank heater worked pretty well.

Possibly a wrapped fuel rail would receive fewer heat radiation from the engine, yet if the fuel was pre-heated it would be more worth to wrap the fuel rail, so maybe it's not the best option for you.

You should buy the exhaust heat recovery system (EHRS) off a gen 3 prius and install it on your diesel.

They are pretty much worthless on pick and pull Priuses so i assume you might pay $50 to cut it out and take it.

If I understand correctly the EHRS is part of the warm up cycle on the Prius until it hits 150F and then it goes to normal and the EHRS cuts out.
